Why are we doing this?
In order to encourage the technology minds and entreprenurial culture in our area, we’re holding a competition and showcase with big fat prizes for incentive and real, honest-to-goodness guidance for ideas that can be moved to market. We believe the Central Valley has the talent, the role models, and the capital founders need to succeed. We want to provide a catalyst for the next generation of great entrepreneurs and help you take risks, think big, and succeed. Participating in 59DaysOfCode will give you enormous validation and access to a world-class network of advisors to help you with every aspect of your business, plus a direct route to seed and venture capital.
The challenge
Three categories to show off, but only two to compete. Both competitve categories keep their source files under a central (but secure & private) version control system. You fall into a category depending on the stage of development you are in.
Zero-Code
If you’ve got an idea, but no code written, you fall into the Zero-Code category. The way it works is this: After the kick off party on April 23rd, you have 59 days to flesh out your idea. You present your audience-ready prototype at the showcase on June 22nd.
In-Progress
If you have code already written, even if your product has gone through a launch phase, you fall into the In-Progress category. You still need to worry about the clock, because no changes are allowed after the showcase begins on June 22nd.
Check the rules to make sure we’re kosher before you apply. Applying binds you to these rules.
